Living Dangerously: Stories Of Climate Change

Living Dangerously: Stories of Climate Change brings together writers, scientists, young people and campaigners to explore and discuss the way our climate is changing. Human activity affects every area of our climate, from the air we breathe and the water we drink, to our ice sheets and glaciers, plants and animals. How can we fight for a more sustainable future?

At Free Word, we see literature and writing as a powerful tool for encouraging people to act on climate change. Through our programme, Living Dangerously: Stories of Climate Change, we’ve teamed up with partners from Britain and around the world to commission authors and host writers’ residencies, bringing you stories that will engage you in the climate change conversation. We’ve also collaborated with literature and science communities in our work in schools.

As part of our programme, Free Word set up Weather Stations, an international project that has partnered with cultural institutions in Warsaw, Dublin, Berlin and Melbourne. The project looks at the political and social climate, and, through debate, reading groups, projects in schools, meetings and workshops, explores how we can live differently and protect our environment.
